NY Hosts the Inman Conference-Where Real Estate Meets the Latest in Marketing Technology
One of the most exciting real estate conferences each year is held in NY, this year at New York’s Marriott M
arquis. The Marquis is centrally located for a variety of dining experiences including the 48th Floor View Restaurant where two can eat for a mere $180 tab. For families, McDonalds is just across the street in Time Square. Today it was chilly, not unusual for this time of year in NY, but it made a ride in a Central Park carriage just a little chillier than I remember in past years. One more advantage of the Marquis is that you can walk to many of the popular Broadway Shows such as Wicked, Lion King, and Phantom… plus others. Comparing our beautiful new office in Ogden in Utah to the exciting real estate in Time Square’s is a bit of a stretch. I am sure the rents per square foot are miles apart, but it is always exciting and stimulating to be in this great city to attend this real estate marketing conference and learn about the newest real estate trends for 2010.
One of the great things about NY is its ability to market itself. The marketing talent here is incredible. For example, I had the opportunity to sit by an up-and-coming marketing CEO by the name of John Wolfington.
I quickly was drawn to this young entrepreneur because we shared a common interest in that we both love to ski at Utah’s Deer Valley. John has just finished a week of skiing with boyhood friends but I noticed he was also anxious to get home to his family which will expand by one boy in three weeks when his wife delivers the latest member of the family. Part of New York’s legacy is its ability to involve and retain great talent like John Wolfington, who specializes in marketing efforts for a select group of clients. John’s company, Paganucci Wolfington, has a wonderful ability to visualize a company in a way that will expand and grow it’s clientele. I enjoyed our flight and looking at the newly created NBA marketing pieces. We talked about one of his target clients, Ford Motor Company, for which he has envisioned how to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace. I hope someone for Ford’s marketing team is reading this post! In any case, marketing is a big part of any company’s success, including our real estate industry.

Because marketing is so critical to selling real estate, it is imperative to keep current with the new technology and trends that can help our Sellers move their homes faster by exposing the property to a greater number of potential buyers. Hence, we are here in NY enjoying the excitement of the city and looking forward to many hours of learning of the new real estate marketing trends of 2010 at the Inman Conference.
